No. Research shows that there is actually no reason to use such a long needle length. The risk of intramuscular injection is relatively high, which is why we have not included this size in our range. It is safer that way. The Association of Diabetes Nurses advises choosing 4-5mm pen needles as a first step, and 6-8mm pen needles as an alternative. Do you use a 12mm pen needle? Then consult your healthcare provider to see if you can use a shorter size.
